Kreuzlingen, March 2017, The Vienna-based company LightGlass Technology, for example, relies on these qualities in its patented technology for self-lighting glass: With ALED Daylight, fully transparent glass can be completely lit up with daylight-quality light at the click of a button. Inside the insulating glass consisting of single-pane safety glass, the fed-in light is reflected on a light-conducting surface. The extraordinary combination of light and glass is opening up entirely new prospects for designing façades and windows.

Blinds in insulating glass

Kreuzlingen, March 2017. For large insulating glass elements, the use of blinds with wide slats is preferred to prevent high and unsightly parcels in the upper area of the glass and to optimally use the daylight. For this reason, until now, aluminium spacer bars have been needed for the extraordinarily wide cavity between the panes – with correspondingly high heat losses at the edge of the glass.
