For the right feel-good climate, the relationship between temperature and air humidity also has to be right from a construction physics perspective. The impact that the quality of the windows and the choice of spacer bar has on comfort is shown by a new study of the Passive House Institute (PHI).

In order to ensure that a pressure-equalised insulated glass unit functions correctly, the validated method so far envisaged the installation of the SWISSPACER AIR in front of the seal using a secondary sealant. This method involved additional work steps and delayed cycle times in the production of the insulated glass units. The Swiss company SWISSPACER has now presented a new method with which the AIR can be installed quickly and easily, above all as a retrofit.

If pressure differences occur in the insulating glass in windows due to temperature differences or differences in altitude between the place of manufacturing and the point of use, the SWISSPACER Air steps in to equalise the pressure. Now, together with VEKA, SWISSPACER has now been able to expand the possible uses of the innovative component: sound insulation, heat insulation and sun protection can be improved simply by using the SWISSPACER Air.

At the recent Passive House Institute Darmstadt (PHI)’s renowned International Passive House Conference, the ‘Passive House Innovation Award’ was presented for the first time. Held in Gaobeidian, China the inaugural award was presented to SWISSPACER for its innovative warm edge spacer bar – SWISSPACER Triple - developed for triple glazing. It came top out of 1000 other certified Passive House components.
