With the Symposium in its third year, SWISSPACER invited leading industry experts to Salzburg for the Symposium. Experts including window and façade builders, window systems companies, planners and scientists, discussed the looming changes to the industry.
All agreed that digitalisation is inevitable. ‘Digitise or die’ was even the topic for discussion during a presentation by Jochen Wilms, Founder and General Manager of W Ventures.

Matthias will sail on the Greenings race team for 11 months covering Uruguay, South Africa, Australia, China, the USA and more. The regatta departed from Albert Dock, Liverpool on Sunday 20th August.
Matthias, who is 36 years old, has grown up sailing around Lake Constance, Zurich, which is next to SWISSPACER’s global headquarters. He has a passion for environmental causes, which is shared by SWISSPACER. Money raised from sponsorship will be donated to ‘The Ocean Cleanup’ project, which is focused on developing new technologies to catch plastic and waste found in the ocean.

Geoff joins with industry experience. In his most recent role he was Business Development Manager for Schüco UK working for their Light Commercial Division. Previously, Geoff worked for Janex and Dempsey Dyer, where he proactively sold finished window units to the fenestration and construction industries. In his spare time, Geoff enjoys cycling and is passionate about his son’s football development.

A popular attraction was SWISSPACER’s new personalised laser marking demonstration in partnership with Domino. Visitors could request a personalised message on the bar and experience first-hand the discreet and permanent benefits of the laser marking, as well as the accuracy of the printing. The champagne reception at the end of the first day was also well received and perfect for networking with many customers, prospects and media over a glass of bubbly.

Agnieszka Wronska, Branch and Operations Manager and Geoff Davies, Sales Manager for the North, Midlands and Ireland have been appointed, in addition to staff who will process customer orders. The 100th anniversary was celebrated in Oslo, Norway, between 16-19 March 2017. As an actor in the glass industry over the last 100 years, different presentations were held regarding glass now and then, how the business has developed and the importance of glass in new building constructions.One of the speakers was the Norwegian Minister of Knowledge, Mr Torbjörn Røe, who said that “glass champion letters are as good as Master degrees".
Many participants from the glass and window industry joined this celebration - SWISSPACER as well.
